Get the shaking off your mind.
SHINDO rates every event for your location — quiet, caution, serious, dangerous, evacuate — so a distant magnitude 4 never wakes you, and a real one always does.
Official JMA earthquake early warnings, tsunami notices and weather alerts, relayed in seconds — rated for the ground you are standing on and explained in English, Japanese and Spanish.
See how it worksWhen the Japan Meteorological Agency issues a 緊急地震速報, SHINDO relays it in about three seconds — with the intensity JMA forecasts for your own area and the arrival time, not a nationwide shout.
SHINDO rates every event for your location — quiet, caution, serious, dangerous, evacuate — so a distant magnitude 4 never wakes you, and a real one always does.
SHINDO's AI explains every event in plain words — epicenter, depth, what JMA observed, tsunami status — in your language, within a minute of the report.
In Japanese folklore a giant catfish stirs beneath the islands. Ours glows. Nazu is a living 3D companion who swims behind your home screen — calm cyan on a quiet day, violet when he is listening, amber for a warning, red when it is real.
Learn moreSHINDO is precise enough to tell you JMA's forecast intensity for your own ward, and calm enough to say "nothing to do" when that is the truth. When a warning is cancelled, you hear that too.
Get SHINDOTsunami warnings by coastal zone. JMA weather warnings for your exact municipality, across all 58 forecast offices. River flood forecasts, typhoon tracks, heatstroke index, volcanic alert levels and live radiation readings — each from its official source, each explained.
Learn moreAfter a quake, the railways pause for inspection — and the station crowds begin. SHINDO reads JR East's line status for the whole Kanto network and Tokyo's subway lines through the operators' open data, translates each notice, and pushes a transit alert when the lines you ride stop.
Learn moreEarthquake early warnings, tsunami, weather and river forecasts, typhoon tracks and volcanic alert levels — straight from the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Earthquake information arrives through the P2P地震情報 relay network within seconds of JMA's release, with per-area intensity forecasts.
The heatstroke index for all 47 prefectures, issued through the day by the Ministry of the Environment.
Live environmental radiation from more than a thousand monitoring posts of the Nuclear Regulation Authority's RAMIS network.

Off the grid, still in touch. SHINDO Node keeps your family messaging over LoRa radio when the networks fail.
A pocket-sized LoRa radio on Japan's licence-free 920 MHz band. Pair it to SHINDO and your messages, location and SOS hop from node to node — no cell tower, no Wi-Fi, no account required.

No. Keep your phone's emergency alerts (緊急速報) switched on — they are broadcast by carriers and work without any app. SHINDO complements them: it relays the same JMA warning with the intensity forecast for your own area, explains the event in your language, and can trigger your lights, your watch and your Node.
Everything SHINDO shows about an earthquake comes from the Japan Meteorological Agency. SHINDO does not predict earthquakes.
From JMA, relayed through the P2P地震情報 network. Our server in Tokyo receives each message within seconds and pushes it to your phone as a critical alert, so it sounds even in Silent and Focus modes once you allow it.
See Data sources & attribution for every feed we use.
JMA only issues an early warning when it forecasts intensity 5-lower or more somewhere in Japan; most quakes you feel are smaller than that. SHINDO always shows those in the Seismic tab and can notify you about them from your chosen threshold — set it in Settings → Notifications.
SHINDO uses your location to choose the right JMA forecast area and to rate alerts for where you are. We store an approximate position with your push token so alerts can be targeted while the app is closed; we do not keep a movement history and we never sell data. Details in the Privacy policy.
Philips Hue, linked through your Hue account so the alert reaches your bridge from our server even when your phone is asleep. Other brands are not supported yet; we will say so here the day they are.
Yes. Abroad, SHINDO switches to Watch mode: you follow Japan's earthquakes and your family's alerts quietly, without sirens. You can turn the full experience back on in Settings if you want it anyway.
